Don't know what to do after college? Come to our session and hear our IROM faculty talk about this new McCombs program. The program is open to all juniors and seniors interested in furthering their education in technology. Find more info here. One of the most popular and useful technique used in consulting and many other business/tech projects is the Agile Development, another familiar name may be Kanban. If you are a MIS major, you are bound to learn this process in MIS 374. We're going to provide a brief intro to this methodology and a workshop to prep you for upper division MIS classes (and the real world) - feel free to grab friends because we will be forming teams.

Are you in need of a place to showcase your creative ideas and entrepreneurship skills? The Asian Business Students Association (ABSA) and the Management Information Systems Association (MISA) are proud to present you the annual Startup Simulation competition to help you do just that and more. Open to all undergraduate students from all majors, Startup Simulation is a great opportunity for you to build upon your business and analytical skills, network with some of the most clever startup owners that Austin has to offer, gain experience in a case competition and Hackathon related setting, and simply have fun working with your friends! You will choose or be placed into teams of 3-4 to create and pitch an innovative startup idea under an overarching theme that will be announced at Kick-off. During the competition, you will be given the opportunity to receive guidance from local Austin startup entrepreneurs. Data is everywhere and what's a better place to start learning about it than with MISA? Sudeep and Anika will be hosting a workshop all about data analytics. We will be learning about how businesses use big data to leverage their decision-making process. This may come in handy for your summer internship as most business majors end up working with data analysis projects one way or another! No prior experiences required; However, we recommend that you attend the Python Workshop on October 30 as we will be using Python in this session. |
